On Friday, November 26, 2021, William "Pat" Straughn of Carnegie, formerly of Wheeling, WV, at the age of 93. Beloved husband of 59 years to the late Peggy (2014), beloved father of Beth (John) Sangermano, Dr. David P. Straughn, Michael R. (Jennifer) Straughn and Reverend Daniel T. Straughn, the late Aimee and Adam Straughn. Pap-Pap to Emily, Madalyn, Avery and Liam; Pap-Pap to Grandpup, Prosper. Predeceased by his parents, Catherine and Bill Straughn. Survived by his brother, Jerry (Patty) Straughn and sisters, Mary Jean (Leonard, deceased) Monteleone and Nancy (Jim, deceased) Doyle, all of Wheeling, WV, along with many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Dad cherished his family, his Catholic faith, and childhood memories of Benwood and Wheeling Dad enjoyed a good cigar, feeding and watching his birds and squirrels, Notre Dame football and a good meal. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict Pat worked for Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel for 46 years in various Commercial and Product Management roles The family thanks all our kind and caring friends, neighbors, and S.S.J. parishioners for their assistance, support and prayers. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, 10 a.m. at Saint Raphael the Archangel Parish, SS.. Simon and Jude Church. Burial will be at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, next to his wife and daughter.. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Discalced Carmelite Nuns of Danville (formerly of Wheeling), 1 Maria Hall Drive, Danville, PA 17821, who prayed for Dad while he was in Korea and aided in finding the first family home, the Marist Brothers of Wheeling Central at P.O. Box 250 Worth, IL 60482, who taught Dad in high school and the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Wheeling at 137 Mount Saint Joseph Road, Wheeling, WV 26003, who taught him in grade school.
