Survived by his wife Bea (Sachs) Mitro and the late June (Kinnee) Mitro; son of the late John and Anna (Dubnansky) Mitro; brother of Myron Mitro, Donora, PA, Florence (Tom) Sveda of Charleroi, PA, and the late Nicholas and Dorothy Mitro; father of William (Sue) Mitro, Atlanta, GA, Mary Ann (Jay) Stern, Mt. Pleasant, PA, Kathy Mitro, Daytona Beach, FL, and Jack (Margaret) Mitro, Pittsburgh, PA; five grandchildren, two great- grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Medical career/Education, B.S. at University of Pittsburgh (1942), M.D. at St. Louis University (1944), intern at University of Pittsburgh medicine (1944-45), and resident at St. John's Hospital, Pittsburgh (1947-48). He practiced medicine in Pittsburgh for 58 years and was a charter member of medical staff at St. Clair Hospital, South Side Hospital, and long distinguished General Practice, Beechview, PA. Member of American Board Family Practice, Fellow Academy Psychosomatic Medicine, A.M.A., American Academy General Practice, and Elks Club. Other clubs include Valley Brook Country Club and Lakeview Golf (Morgantown, WV). He was a kind, compassionate friend to all and enjoyed traveling internationally, including China, Russia, Africa, Japan, and India, music, theater, and playing cards. He played high school football with Hall of Famer, Stan Musial and enjoyed watching sports.
