William K. McAleer

Age 91, of Mt. Lebanon, on Saturday, May 4, 2013. He was the beloved husband of the late Helen Harrison McAleer and Felicia Lange McAleer; dear father of William H. (Colleen McGinn) McAleer; stepfather of Stephen (Debra) Lange and Michael Lange; grandfather of William F. McAleer and Lindsay J. McAleer; brother of the late Marianne McAleer. Bill was President of Peter F. Loftus Corporation and active in the Pittsburgh business community. He was a member of the Duquesne Club, the Pittsburgh Athletic Association and several Engineering Societies. He graduated from Carnegie Tech (CMU) and received a graduate degree in Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. At Carnegie Tech, he was a member of Delta Tau Delta and several honor societies. With his colleagues at Carnegie Tech, he helped develop tactical scuba diving technology for the Navy during WWII. He was an avid traveler, living in Latin America and visiting over 25 countries. He was a kind and caring parent and grandparent and supported many charitable organizations. Friends welcome to a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. on Monday in St. Bernard Church, 311 Washington Road, Mt. Lebanon (Pittsburgh 15216). Private interment.
