William R. "Duffy" Best

Age 75, of Bridgeville, went to meet his savior on Thursday, December 15, 2022.  Son of the late Edwin Eugene and Anastasia (Kondrich) Best; brother of Jack Best (Claire) and the late Dolores Davidson; uncle of Kelly and Erin (Eric Ozimak), Michael (Venera Scuderi) and Adam Davidson.  Also survived by cousins, great-nieces, great-nephews, friends, neighbors, and coworkers.

Bill found his footing in life through culinary school and developed a passion for back-of-house restaurant work.  He really hit his stride with King's Family Restaurant where he loyally worked for 38 years. 

An avid sports fan, Bill had his finger on the pulse of the entire sporting world.  He loved his Pittsburgh teams but also loved NASCAR and would talk for hours about his favorite drivers and courses.  Bill’s other love in life was music.  Be it live or recorded, Bill appreciated all forms and took great enjoyment in reliving classics or discovering new music to provide the soundtrack to life.

He found his second family through the Bible Chapel McMurray location and participated in weekly services, Bible study, and mentorship programs.  Bill routinely put other's needs before his own through routine donations to community food banks, clothing drives, and other charitable endeavors.

Family and friends received from 12-2 PM and after 4 PM until the time of his memorial service at 5:30 PM Thursday, January 5, 2023, WILLIAM SLATER II FUNERAL SERVICE (412-563-2800), 1650 Greentree Rd., Scott Twp. 15220. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill’s name may be made to either the Bridgeville Community Food Bank, 740 Washington Ave., Bridgeville, PA 15017 or the Light of Life Rescue Mission, 913 Western Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15233.
