Tolaka Kim

Age 44, of Green Tree, passed peacefully on Friday, December 30, 2022.

He was born December 28, 1978 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Beloved husband of Sonja K. (Skeels) Kim; loving father of Ryan Skeels Kim, Stephen Titia Kim and Tolaka James Kim; a son of Sokhan Hor and Sovan Ny; brother of Pagna Kim, Chakra Kim, and Sakada Kim; affectionate uncle to many nieces and nephews and extended family.

Tola was a manager and an educator for Heritage International Schools- Phnom Penh with a deep devotion to educate the future generations of Cambodia.  He taught with kindness, patience, and by example, inspiring so many people both young and old.  His heart was felt by people in rural Cambodia and by his loving family at home.  Never wanting to see someone go without, his generosity and compassion was infinite.  Making so many memories, he enjoyed traveling with his beautiful wife and three boys and of course, loving his little furry baby, Charlie.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, January 7, 2023, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm with a memorial service beginning at 7 pm at WILLIAM SLATER II FUNERAL SERVICE, (412-563-2800), 1650 Greentree Road, Scott Twp., PA 15220.  His interment will be held privately. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the City Mission, 84 W. Wheeling Street, Washington, PA 15301 or the Pittsburgh Food Bank, 1 N. Linden St., Duquesne, PA 15110.
