Timothy W. Pawol

d. May 25, 2020

Timothy Pawol, 70, of Scott Township, Pennsylvania passed away on May 25, 2020 of CNS Lymphoma. He died peacefully at home surrounded by his family.
Born to Velma and Joseph Pawol in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania, Tim was the youngest of four children. He is survived by his sister Judy Pasta. His brother Joe, Jr. and sister Sally Rudolph are deceased. He married his wife Terri in 1973, who survives him. He is also survived by his daughters, Beth and Hilary, and Hilary's husband, Mike .

Tim graduated from Geneva College and Duquesne University School of Law. He devoted his life to the Human Services with many notable achievements. Early in his career, he was employed by Allegheny County as managing attorney for Human Services and later Deputy Director of Children and Youth Services. However, most of his life's work was spent advocating for countless individuals with disabilities in Western Pennsylvania. He created the The Family Trust, the first special needs pooled trust in Pennsylvania. Tim also served on the Board of Directors at Mayview State Hospital, The Arc of Washington County and most recently, AAdvantage, Inc., the parent company of The Arc of Washington County and Arc Human Services.

Tim was known for his sense of humor and quick wit. He was passionate about shooting sports and served on the Board of Directors of the National Rifle Association. He volunteered as a referee regularly for national law enforcement shooting competitions. A man of many accomplishments, his most important was being a devoted husband and father to his family, and he will be dearly missed.

The family would like to thank Gallagher Hospice for the excellent care that Tim received at home. Out of overwhelming concern for the health of our friends and loved ones, the family has made the difficult decision to have only private services and interment. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to either Gallagher Foundation at 1370 Washington Pike, Suite 401B, Bridgeville, PA 15017 or to The Arc of Washington County at 470 Johnson Road, Suite 200, Washington, PA 15301. William Slater II Funeral Service (412-563-2800) entrusted by the Pawol family with arrangements. www.slaterfuneral.com
