Tom passed away surrounded by his friends and family on Sunday 26 April, after a long illness. His courage during his struggle with cancer, and his encouragement to those close to him, was an inspiration to us all. A successful business man and avid sportsman, Tom and his brother, Bill, led Metro Heating & Cooling on Banksville Road for 40 years. Tom took great pride in making people comfortable. Reflecting the esteem of his peers, he was elected President of the Pittsburgh Chapter of the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) and actively supported their agenda in Washington. Tom was a wonderful father, a fine and loyal friend, and the best brother one could imagine. Known for his generosity to friends and family alike, he was always ready to help on a project, with a gift, or a fishing trip to Tillman's Island or even to the vineyards in France. He was a cheerful, kind, thoughtful, loving man who will be long in our hearts. He is survived by his sons, Brian and Zach Wessner; and his grandson, Cole; his sister Ann Winer and his brothers, Bill, Charles and Richard Wessner.
