Steven M. Wilhide, 33, passed away from a sudden illness on December 24, 2022.
Son of Rebecca L. MacBlane and Douglas A. Wilhide, he was born December 28, 1988 in Indiana, PA.
Steven was a 2007 graduate of Indiana Senior High School and graduated summa cum laude from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2013 with a B.S. in Health & Safety Science. He was employed as a Certified Safety Consultant with Amerisafe Group for eight years, and resigned in 2021 to establish Tree Dogs, LLC, a full-service tree removal and pruning business. He quickly exceled in his new endeavor and developed a large following on social media by providing tree removal tutorial content and how-to videos for tree removal professionals.
Steven was devoted to his family, fiancé and three dogs, Winnie, Dyna and Primo. He had an unparalleled thirst for knowledge and devoted a great deal of his spare time to learning new skills from engine repair to carpentry and construction. He had an entrepreneurial spirit and an incredible work ethic, however his drive and determination were tempered by his quirky sense of humor, his kindness and his willingness to love deeply with an open heart. Regardless of the circumstances, he was always available to offer his time and assistance to others in need. His kindheartedness, generosity of spirit and love of family were evidenced by his devotion to Danielle’s beautiful children, whom he loved very much.
Steven enjoyed playing hockey in his youth and participated in the Pittsburgh Amateur Hockey League for many years. He was an outstanding skateboarder, an excellent skier, a talented artist and a terrific percussionist. As an adult, he enjoyed music, movies, gun collecting and outdoor activities of all kinds. He loved animals and was happiest when he was surrounded by his dogs and cats.
Surviving are his mother and stepfather, Rebecca MacBlane and Alan J. Bochan, his brother, Douglas J. Wilhide, his fiancé, Danielle Lodovico, his biological father, Douglas A. Wilhide, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Elizabeth MacBlane, John and Frances Bochan and Fred and Verona Wilhide.
