Age 92, of Green Tree, on Tuesday, January 25, 2021. Beloved husband for 71 years to Mary K. (Geary) Franks. Dear father of Steven (Lynne) Franks, Thomas (deceased) (surviving wife, Julie) Franks, Jim (Mary) Franks, Karen (Richard) Phillip, and Mark (Stephanie) Franks. Grandfather of 15 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Brother of Rose (late Twig) Leaf, Catherine and the late Ed Franks.
Steve was born and raised in Greene County, PA; worked as a coal miner for 9-10 years; attended an electronics school in Chicago; went on to work as an electronics specialist with the Civil Aeronautics Administration (CAA), which became the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) from which he retired. He and his wife Mary of 71 years both attended and met at Mapletown High School. Steve played alto saxophone and clarinet throughout his life (a big fan of jazz and Dave Brubeck). He was a quiet, reliable go-to guy at work; and a dedicated loving husband and father (a family man) at home. He could fix anything. They broke the mold when they made Steven J.
