Shirley C. Sullivan, aged 95, of Mt. Washington, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, August 21, 2024. Shirley was born on June 11, 1929 to the late George Fox and Mildred (Pashel) Cook. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raymond Sullivan, her adoring children, Sterling White and Joyce (White) Thorpe and her grandchildren, Sterling White and Duane Thorpe.
For many years, Shirley worked with children as a School Aide at Grandview Elementary School. Her kindness and compassion led to Shirley furthering her education and becoming a Mental Health Therapist, where she served the community, specializing in suicide prevention, before retiring from Mercy Behavioral Health.
Shirley had a passion for dogs, and was an enthusiastic, proud breeder of Champion Pekingese for many years. She enjoyed taking her grandchildren to dog shows, and made them feel special by allowing them to walk her show dogs on the practice walks. Above all, Shirley’s love and commitment to God and family was demonstrated in all she accomplished during her life. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them, and she especially loved her role as NaNa.
Surviving Shirley are her devoted children Thomas (Cindy) Bichler, Kathleen Bruce, David (Donna) Bichler, and Frank (Kathy) Sullivan.
