In 1958, he was hired as General Attorney for US Steel in Pittsburgh, PA, and later was promoted to Senior General Attorney specializing in labor and unemployment law. Cy was an avid squash player and actively competed in tournaments and league matches throughout Pittsburgh. He was on the board of the Pittsburgh Squash Racquets Association and helped facilitate the growth of squash in the Pittsburgh area.

In 1998, when he retired from US Steel, Cy became very involved in the Mt. Lebanon Tennis Center where he helped to organize doubles leagues and continued to play several times a week.

However, after his retirement, most time was reserved for his five grandchildren. He was a devoted grandparent and became a major part of his grandchildren's lives.
