Samuel Whetstone

Age 78, of Mt. Washington, formerly of Hazelwood, passed away Sunday, August 28, 2016. Beloved husband of 32 years to Sue (Crowley) Whetstone; dear father of Barbara Ann (Nicholas) Palombia; loving "Pappy" of Riley and Cole; son of the late Jackson and Ada (Coulson) Whetstone; preceded in death by daughter, Sandra; brother, Jack; and sister, Barbara Bodenheimer. He is survived by brother, Dempsey (Annette); sister, Lou Rogers of Texas; and sister-in-law, Martha Whetstone. Also survived by very special in-laws and out-laws. He was "Uncle Sam-the Teaser" to numerous nieces and nephews. Sam proudly served in the Navy aboard the USS Clarence K. Bronson DD668 and always looked forward to the Tin Can Sailor reunions catching up with and story-swapping with former shipmates.
