Rosemary C. Prodanovich, a remarkable woman who lived to be 102, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2023. She lived a beautiful life for over a century, and always had a story to tell. She was the beloved wife of the late John N. “Jimmy” Prodanovich and mother of the late John Nicholas "Nicky" Prodanovich.
Rosemary's life was filled with challenges, but she faced them all with grace and determination, always doing her very best to overcome obstacles. Above all, she cherished her family and was content with being in her home surrounded by those she loved. Her memory will always live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
As a child, Rosemary loved roller skating and was a fast runner, she was able to outrun all the boys in the neighborhood. She was known for her courage, wit, humor, resilience, and caring nature. She was also incredibly intelligent, and her wisdom and guidance will be missed. Rosemary had violet eyes, a beautiful smile, and a cheerful disposition.
Throughout her long life, Rosemary experienced many significant historical events, including the Great Depression, World War II, the Polio Epidemic, and the recent Covid-19 Pandemic. She witnessed numerous innovations and changes throughout the 20th and 21st centuries.
Rosemary enjoyed singing around the house and playing the piano, even in her later years she would often hit the keys at her daughter Diane’s home, joining in on the Duet “Heart and Soul.” She was an excellent baker, her ‘treats‘ always a highlight at family gatherings, and her husband’s place of work. She had a good sense of humor and loved to say "Mele Kalikimaka" in Hawaiian, meaning "Merry Christmas." Rosemary never liked to say “Good-bye” to anyone, instead saying “Abyssinian” which meant “I’ll be seeing you”.
Rosemary was born with the maiden name Wilcher, and her parents were George Wilcher and Rose "Conley" Wilcher. She is survived by her four daughters, Diane Lombardi, Donna Murphy, Darlyne Kerin, and Suzanne Hayworth, as well as seven grandchildren: Ray Lombardi, Jacqueline Lombardi , Ryan Murphy, Mark Prince, Tierney “Peterson” Prince, Brynn Kerin, and Bill S. Additionally, she had seven great-grandchildren, including Vincent Lombardi, Isabella Lombardi, Anastasia Lombardi, Mira Lombardi, Rylie Peterson, Gavin Peterson, and Mykaio Kelley.
Rosemary will be deeply missed by her family, their lives forever charmed by having known her. Love to you Rosemary and thank you for gracing our lives. We will strive to make this world a place of Heaven. This is not the end….. Abyssinia! Love you.
