Rose Marie Angelo

Rose Marie Angelo, of Pittsburgh, passed away Sunday April 2, 2023 at the age of 85. 

She was born on December 28, 1937 to the late James and Marya (Soveral) Amantea. Rose Marie dedicated her life to others; Following the death of her parents, she cared for her siblings: Elizabeth “B.J.” (Amantea) DeMarco and Loretta “Lori” (Amantea-Gates) Youler, both of whom have preceded her in death.  Rose Marie was previously married to Anthony Angelo (deceased), eventually raising their three boys: Louis (deceased), Steven, and Dean Angelo as a single mother. 

She devoted her professional and volunteer life to the public, as a Nutritionist's assistant for W.I.C.; and believed in the value of lending a hand. 

Rose Marie’s recipe for life was rooted in caring for others. It relied on perseverance, radical forgiveness, kindness without limits, family (by blood and by choice) and a whole lot of elbow grease. 

Her welcoming nature and unwavering authenticity have left their mark on many who had the good fortune to know her.

She is survived by two of her sons, a beloved daughter-in-law: Sheri (Winkle) Angelo, three grandchildren: Cailynne, Veronica, and Mitchell Angelo, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, countless friends, coworkers, and many others she took into her fold. 

A viewing will be held Monday, April 10, 2023 from 2-8pm in WM SLATER & SONS INC. (412-381-3345), 301 Virginia Avenue Pittsburgh, PA 15211 followed by burial services and Mass on Tuesday April 11, 2023 at 10am at St. Mary’s of the Mount, on Mount Washington.
