Ronald N. Stokes, Jr.
Age 54, of Pittsburgh, God called him home on Friday, August 15, 2025. Beloved husband for 25 years of Chartheresa C. Stokes. Dear son of Mary Lois Carter Stokes and the late Ronald N. Stokes Sr. Loving father of Tristin Stokes and Chaniyah Stokes. Uncle Papa to Jyennell Major, Kali Wilson, Ka’Lai Wilson and Mileya Wilson. Dear brother of Penny Stokes, Sue Stokes, Nina Randolph, Wanda Stokes (deceased), Marianne Stokes and his brother Ronald N. Stokes III. Also survived by many brother and sister in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins. Ron was a US Marine and a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh. Ronald Stokes had over 30+ years in law enforcement with 26 years as a Deputy Sheriff. He was a Deputy Sheriff for Allegheny County and received many awards including: Silver Star for Bravery from the Police Hall of Fame, Several Commendations from the Allegheny County Sheriffs Office and Commission Area Command, Significant Achievement Award form PA State Police, American Police Hall of Fame Legion of Honor Award, Received the Law Enforcement Agency Directors of Allegheny County 2004 LEAD Award for outstanding Performance for Detectives, Special Recognition from the Senate of the State of Pennsylvania and given the “Disregard for his own safety award.” The PA State office Lieutenant Governor 2007 Kids Come First Award, and many many more.
