Surrounded by family, Ron's physical body left us on May 27, 2023 after a long battle with myelofibrosis. The third of four children, Ron was born to Robert and Wilma (Safran) Freeborough on April 21, 1943 in Munhall, PA.
Ron was the dedicated husband to Andrea Mariani whom he married on August 16, 1974. Philanthropists, Ron and Andrea gave to numerous charitable organizations and opened their home and hearts to Vietnamese Refugees, orphans and exchange students.
Ron enjoyed time with his family, watching his grandchildren's sporting events and hanging out with the many friends that he and Andrea had.
After his humble beginnings working in the family grocery business, then for Borden Foods, Inc., Ron began a 40-year successful career at Mariani & Richards, Inc., twenty-eight of which he served as president of the company. Through his hard work, long hours and dedication he grew the company into a well-respected masonry, restoration and water-proofing business whose work can be seen in and around the Pittsburgh area. Ron would like to thank all of the former and current employees for a job well-done.
He leaves to cherish in his memory his four children: Kim (Kathy) Freeborough, Karen (Jeff) Gustafson, Christian (Donna) Freeborough; and Angela Borris along with his five grandchildren: Jake and Jared Gustafson, Dante and Luca Borris and Ava Freeborough. He also leaves his youngest sister Cheryl (Mitch) Bolling, and his sister and brother-in-law Charlotte and Lino Amatangelo and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Andrea, his brother Jim Freeborough and his sister Sarah Seby.
