Robert M. Shields

Age 67, of Bethel Park, formerly of Mt. Lebanon, unexpectedly on Saturday, January 17, 2015. Beloved husband of JoAnn L.; dear father of Michael (Rachel) Shields and Kevin (Marcia) Shields; loving grandfather of Libby, Derrick, David, Sydney, and Will; preceded in death by his siblings, Karl and Eileen; and his parents, Anne and Bernard. Bob was a sales manager for General Electric for 30 years. He was an all-around athlete and coach. He also was a graduate of Central Catholic and attended Pitt University, where he pitched for the baseball team. Friends welcome Monday 2-5 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. at WILLIAM SLATER II FUNERAL SERVICE, 1650 Greentree Rd., Scott Twp. A Memorial Mass will be in St. Thomas More Church, 126 Fort Couch Rd., Bethel Park on Tuesday at 10 a.m. Because of Bob's love and devotion to baseball, the family requests memorial donations to Mt.
