Passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 13, 2012 at the Baptist Home. He was called home to be with the Lord and his loving wife, Lois. Beloved father of Gary (Nancy) of Fort Worth, TX, Jeffrey (Mindy) of Kansas City, KS, Suzanne (Michael) Torcasi of Pgh., PA, and Patricia (Art Hart) of Seattle, WA; brother of Marge Darby of Akron, OH; also survived by nine grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Friends welcome Wednesday, December 19 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at WILLIAM SLATER II FUNERAL SERVICE, 1650 Greentree Rd., Scott Twp. Funeral Mass in St. Margaret of Scotland Church, 310 Mansfield Ave., Green Tree, PA 15220 on Thursday, December 20, at 10 a.m. Hank was born in Clairton, PA on August 20, 1924. He grew up in Braddock, PA and graduated from Scott High School in 1942. Shortly thereafter he joined the U.S. Navy and served during WWII. Hank then apprenticed as a carpenter and subsequently became a member of Local 165 of the United Carpenters Union that just honored him this December for 65 years of membership. Hank and his wife, Lois who passed away in November of 2009, raised their four children in McKeesport, PA. They retired to Conneaut Lake, PA in 1989, where they enjoyed 20 years living at the "Lake". Hank was an avid golfer and an all-around good guy. He was dearly loved by his many relatives and friends and enjoyed making people laugh. The family would like to thank the staff at The Baptist Home and Providence Point for the wonderful care given to our father.
