Age 66, of Rosslyn Farms, passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2017, following a nearly year long battle with pancreatic cancer. Bob, the son of the late Fred P. and Mary V. McLuckie, was born in Pittsburgh and raised in nearby Charleroi, PA. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1972 earning a BA in economics. While at Pitt he was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity where he served as Vice President. Bob's childhood passion for cars which he collected over his lifetime, led him to a 32 year career in the auto industry. He joined Chrysler Corporation Automotive Sales and Marketing Division and held several staff management positions in the Pittsburgh zone. In 1989 he joined the Fleet Sales Division of Chrysler where he was responsible for the development and management of domestic and global commercial sales. Although he loved his work, Bob chose to take an early retirement in 2007 just prior to Fiat's acquisition of Chrysler. He kept busy as a part time consultant for Chrysler as well as planning for his retirement home in Florida. Bob was also an active member and volunteer for Epiphany Catholic Church. He remained very active in politics and served as Democratic party chairman for Rosslyn Farms. He is survived by his twin brother, Fred (Sally) of Washington, DC; his nephew, Ian McLuckie; a niece, Lauren Spangler of Washington, DC (Scott St. Onge); numerous cousins, including Kathy Gehman; and longtime friend, Gaye Hockenberry of Pittsburgh. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Susan Spangler. Mass of Christian Burial in Church of the Epiphany on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. Interment at Calvary Cemetery will be held at a later date.
