Richard A. Zett

Age 84, of Beechview formerly of Johnstown, on Thursday, March 21, 2024.  Dick was born of October 13, 1939, and was the son of the late Marie and Arthur Varner.   Beloved husband of 51 years to Mary Louise (Katchmeric) Zett.  Dear father of Julie (Mark) Joyce, and Richard M. (Cristyn) Zett.  Loving grandfather of Gavin & Emma Zett and Callen, Jameson & Maclain Joyce.  Brother-in-law of Michalene & Harold Singer, and Denis & Elizabeth Katchmeric.   Also, cherished nieces, nephews and cousins.  Preceded in death by in-laws Michael & Irene Katchmeric and Nancy & Bob Lakatos.   Dick had many wonderful memories of the Zett clan as well as the Katchmeric family get togethers and vacations.   He also had fond memories of St. Pamphilus Church especially Parish Family Dances and our awesome volleyball group.   His hobbies in younger years were piloting his plane, riding motorcycles and horses, hunting, fishing, camping, boating, golfing and tinkering with cars.  Family and friends are welcome, Monday (April 1, 2024) 2-8 p.m., WILLIAM SLATER II FUNERAL SERVICE, 1650 Greentree Rd., Scott Twp., 15220 (412-563-2800).  Blessing Service 11:30 a.m.  Tuesday at the funeral home.  Interment private National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Down Syndrome Association of Pittsburgh, 2211 Lesnett Road, Unit 12864, Pittsburgh, PA 15241.   www.slaterfuneral.com
