Richard F. Smith

Of Green Tree, City, age 94, peacefully on Friday, August 23, 2013. Beloved husband of Lillian (Karcher) Smith; loving father of Richard, Jr. (Arlene) Smith, Sharon (Ron) Hosko, Susan (Tom) Greco, Sandy (Brian) Bence. Preceded in death by a son, Wayne (surviving spouse Paula) Smith. Also survived by ten grandchildren. Richard was a World War II Army veteran, having served in the European Theater. Richard was retired from Western Electric Co., after 40 years of service. He was a member of Pioneers of America, the Green Tree American Legion Post 823, and the Knights of Columbus. His hobbies were ballroom dancing, bowling, camping, and traveling. Family and friends welcome Monday 2-9 p.m. at WILLIAM SLATER II FUNERAL SERVICE, (412-563-2800), 1650 Greentree Rd., Scott Twp. Funeral Mass in St. Margaret of Scotland Church, Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery.
