Richard George Lutz, age 89, of Pittsburgh, PA, passed into eternity in on Thursday, April 18, 2024. Born May 18, 1934 in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Henry Lutz and Helen Mildrid Hansmann. Richard was a graduate of South Hills High School in Pittsburgh. He served two years in the Army in Germany at the same time as Elvis Presley. He had a successful 50 plus-year career with Columbia Gas Transmission wearing many different hats and participating in many of their charitable efforts including the employee blood drives. During that time, Richard and his wife, Doris Jeanne Schamming, had three children in Pittsburgh. Florence (James) Bond, Richard (Nadya) Lutz, Ed (Cheryl) Lutz. He took over primary care responsibility when Doris fell ill. He remarried Loretta Rae Hirt in 1990 and helped to raise Loretta's grand daughter, Heather Schaefer.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 34 years; his three children, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his brother, Henry Lutz. NO VISITATION.
