Regina Elizabeth Schimborski

d. May 14, 2022

McMurray

Regina Elizabeth Schimborski peacefully passed from this life on Saturday, May 14th, 2022 at the age of 93.  She was born in Lawrenceville, the daughter of the late Peter A. Dufner and Gertrude M (Scheeser) Dufner, and was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Barbara Jean Michel and her husband, Joseph Bernard Schimborski.

Regina is survived by her oldest daughter, Patricia (John) Michel Smith, her grandchildren John (Rachel) I. Smith III of LaPorte, IN, Carol (David) L. Lucchesi of Bethel Park, Matthew P. Smith of Carrick, and Amanda (Adam) L. Ebersole of Peters Township.  She is also survived by her brother Donald M. Dufner, and seven great grandchildren: David Lucchesi; Angel Lucchesi; Ivy Sperling; Sarah Smith; Jacob Smith; Alia Ebersole; and Annika Ebersole, and seven great-great grandchildren.

In her youth, Regina was a talented dancer and her appreciation of music remained with her throughout her life.  She was also known for her love of playing cards, bowling, and spending time with her family.  Perhaps her most lasting legacy to her family is - in face of loss and adversity - the ability to keep going with strength, fortitude and grace.
