Raymond J. Kotewicz Sr.

Raymond J. Kotewicz Sr., age 88, of Baldwin, passed away on Friday, February 17, 2023 at his daughter's Beechview home.  Born July 12, 1934 in Pittsburgh, the son of the late Joseph and Jennie (Smolinski) Kotewicz. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Joan K. (Stevick) Kotewicz; children Diane (Eric) Ceja of Harrisburg, Susan (Rick) Rusyn of Beechview, and Raymond (Lisa) Kotewicz, Jr. of Elizabeth Twp. He is preceded in death by his son Robert R. Kotewicz. Raymond is also survived by his grandchildren, Jason Rusyn, Jared Hoy, Elizabeth Kotewicz, and Raymond Kotewicz III; great-grandchildren Andrew Rusyn, Madelyn Booth, Brianna Price, Jade Chalmers and 3 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and son, he was preceded in death by his brother Edward J. Kotewicz. Ray retired after more than 36 years from J&L Steel/LTV Steel.  The legacy that he leaves is his sense of humor that will be sorely missed.   Family and friends will be received in WM. SLATER & SONS, INC., (412-381-3345), 301 Virginia Ave., Mt. Washington 15211 on Thursday, February 23, 2023 from 2-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Friday, February 24, 2023, at 10 AM in Mary Queen of Peace Parish, St. Mary of the Mount Church in Mt. Washington with the Rev. Michael J. Stumpf officiating. Burial will follow in St. John Vianney Cemetery on Brownsville Rd.  In lieu of flowers, buy yourself a few scratch-off lottery tickets.
