Age 83, of the West End of Pittsburgh, who passed of natural causes on Oct. 23, 2016. Son to Rose Catherine Schmitt and Charles Edward Donehue; beloved husband of Clare (Reiss) Donehue; loving father of of Paul J. (Rieko), David C. (Teresa) and Marybeth; grandfather of Rachel,
Ryan, Hannah, Kai and Sean; survived by beloved sister Janet (Donehue) McGervey and sister-in-law Colleen (Kerr) Donehue; and brother and brother-in-
law to the late Edward Donehue; Mary Barbara and Joseph Eberle; and Walter McGervey. Bud was blessed with the love of an incredible extended-family of Donehues and Schmitts, including more cousins, nieces and nephews than can be recounted here. Bud greatly valued his family, immediate and extended, and the annual Donehue/Schmitt Family Picnic was his Christmas-morning and Superbowl all wrapped into one. Bud placed family above all, and would do
anything he could at any time, for anyone in need. After being honorably discharged from the United Stated Army after the Korean War, Bud was employed
for over 30 years as a supervisor for the United States Postal Service in Pittsburgh. Bud worked night-shifts, overtime and weekends to provide his family with the best life he could. He took great pride in the fact that, because of his, and his beloved-wife Clare's, hard work and determination, his sons were able to attend college, obtain advanced degrees and begin family-centered lives of their own. Bud also had a wonderfully-close bond with his Daughter, Marybeth, who has brought tremendous joy and unconditional love to Bud, Clare and the rest of the family Bud will be dearly remembered for his strong commitment to family, his remarkable work ethic, and never lacking a joke or quip, his sense of humor and quick wit.
