Age 87, after a long fulfilling life and a brief illness, passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2016. Beloved son of the late F.M. and Lillian (Dapper) Benz; cherished father of Kathy Lawten, Carol Holloway (Tom), Patti Mansmann (Jeff), Susan Callahan (Tom). He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred (Mickey) McClellan; and his beloved son, Tom. He was preceded in death by siblings, Harry G., M.D. and Marianne Plummer. He was fortunate to have Rita Brown as his longtime girlfriend and social secretary. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Paul served in the U.S. Navy in Bainbridge, MD from 1954 through 1956 as a Lieutenant Dental Officer. He practiced dentistry for 36 years on Greentree Road. Paul was a man of few words who never had a bad word to say about anyone. Until recently, he delivered Meals on Wheels, played cards with friends, and flew home-built radio control airplanes. He was a long distance pigeon racing champion, race horse owner at the Meadows, and an avid golfer. He was a very kind and thoughtful man. His words of wisdom were, "The more time I put in, the luckier I get". He was lucky enough to have two holes-in-one. We were lucky enough to have him in our lives.
