Passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2021. Born October 1923 in Columbus, Georgia. Survived by wife, Carolyn, children, Sharon Motyl (Tom), Roslyn Hahn (Charles), Linda Rusz (Lawrence). Grandfather of Deron Gabriel (Gina), Brian Gabriel (Clare), Heather Hicks (Noah), Jamese Dudash (Bruce), Adam Rusz, Shana Roberts. 12 great grandchildren. U.S. Navy Veteran WW II. Retired as Division Freight Traffic Manager Illinois Central Gulf Railroad. Joined Pittsburgh Traffic Club in 1951, served on Board and Awarded lifetime membership, American Society of Transportation and Logistics, Interstate Commerce Commission Practitioner, 32nd Degree Mason, Shrine Temple, Kiwanis, Elks, and others. Retired to Florida where he served on Library Board, Town Counsel, AARP Tax Consultant, organized a certified wood carving club and served as church treasurer. He was a sport enthusiast as well as playing bridge. Friends received Thursday, 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at WILLIAM SLATER II FUNERAL SERVICE, 1650 Greentree Rd., Scott Twp., 15220, where Military Honors will be presented at 3:00 p.m. Private burial in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
