Mildred Tschippert

Mildred Ann Shelleby Tschippert passed away on Friday, August 7, 2015, at Allegheny General Hospital after complications following hip surgery. She was 84.
Millie was born on October 1,1930, in Pittsburgh, PA to her parents, the late Mike and Mildred Shelleby. She graduated from Mount Assisi Academy for girls in 1948 and was valedictorian of her class. Millie married the love of her life, Edward F. Tschippert, on May 24, 1952. After a successful career as a customer service representative at Universal Underwriters Insurance Company, she retired in 1992.
Following her retirement, she enjoyed giving her service to several organizations in the Green Tree area including St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church and St. Margaret School. She also volunteered at Marian Manor nursing facility in a number of positions including front door greeter, receptionist, and hostess in the gift shop.
She is survived by her three children: Debra Kennedy, Robert Tschippert, and Linda Tschippert Kerec; her sister, Frances Shelleby, and brother, Michael
Shelleby, Jr.; as well as her seven grandchildren: Hunter, Christian, Kimberly, Katelyn, Shellby, Talia, and Luke. Her children and grandchildren were the most important part of her life. She is preceded in death by her husband, Edward, in 1991.
