Maureen Louise (White) Galardini passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Saturday, February 7, 2026. She was born January 6, 1950 in Pittsburgh, and was the daughter of the late Martha A. White and the late Joseph H. White.
Maureen grew up in West Mifflin, attending Lebanon Elementary School and St. Elizabeth High School. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from Slippery Rock State College, and earned a Master of Education degree from the University of Pittsburgh.
Maureen began her teaching career at South Fayette High School, as a physical education teacher, girls’ basketball coach, and cheerleading coach. She then taught technology, drama, & speech at St. Louise de Marillac School, where she was beloved by her students. As drama coach, she directed a variety of successful plays and musicals, and her debate teams competed annually against schools across the region, earning numerous first place awards. Maureen also served as a debate judge for competitions across the tri-state area. Additionally, she taught Sunday School at St. Joan of Arc parish for many years. Upon retirement, she volunteered in Pre-K at St. Patrick’s School in Canonsburg.
She is survived by her devoted children & their spouses: Michael (Megan) Galardini, Kristen (Derek) Hohman, and David (Gina) Galardini, as well as grandchildren who adored her: Brianna, Alex, Nico, Mia, Luca, Mason, Ashton, Ava, and Camden, as well as brother Mark White (Deanna), cousin Barbara Ornstein (Steve), nieces, great nieces, and former husband, Rick Galardini.
Maureen was an incredible mom & “Grammy”. Her greatest joy was her family, who she proudly called “Best Family EVER!”.She was extremely proud of her children and grandchildren, attending sporting and school events, loudly cheering them on, and enjoying family time at Myrtle Beach each summer. She was one of the Pittsburgh Steelers most avid, loyal fans.
She will forever be in our memories.
The family would like to thank the staff at Ridgecrest of McMurray and Monarch Hospice for their exceptional care.
A private family service will be held, followed by burial at Calvary Cemetery in Pittsburgh (Hazelwood). Donations may be made in her memory to Monarch Hospice @ 2837 Leechburg Rd., New Kensington, PA 15068.
