Of Bethel Park, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, March 2, 2024. Daughter of the late Joseph P. and Mary E. Laver. Loving and devoted wife of the late William H. Taylor. Beloved mother of William J. Taylor and the late Valerie M. Taylor. Beloved Grandmother (Gram) of Travis (Kathryn) Taylor, Alexis (Tyler) Trovato, and Zachary (fiancé Toni Gerace) Taylor. Beloved Great Grandma (GG) of Addison and Brantley Taylor. Sister of James D. (Peggy) Laver and the late Joseph P. (Surviving Spouse Eleanor) Laver.

Mary was born and raised in Clairton, Pa and graduated from Clairton High School in 1958. She was employed at Brunswick Bowling Corporation as the Branch Manager's secretary for 6 years. Bill worked for Brunswick, they met and fell in love and were married in 1963 at St. Joseph's Church in Clairton.

They resided in Wexford, PA for 2 years, then built their own home in Bethel Park, PA where they raised their 2 children. Mary was a proud member of St. Thomas More Church and also worked there as a laundress for 20 years, retiring in 2002. Mary loved to cook and bake for her family. She enjoyed sharing her baked goods with friends, neighbors, and the staff at the church. She loved to swim (Bill even built her an inground pool), read, do crossword puzzles and was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins.

 

Family and Friends welcome on Tuesday 2-8 pm at FREYVOGEL-SLATER FUNERAL DIRECTORS (412-835-1860112 Fort Couch Road Bethel Park (Opposite Macy’s, South Hills Village) Funeral prayers Wednesday 9:15 am folllwed by a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday 10:00 am Resurrection Parish, St. Thomas More Church, Fort Couch Road, Bethel Park, PA. Burial to follow in Queen of Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
