Mary E. Story (Bucci), age 62, of Dormont, beloved wife of Chester B. Story, III, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, January 25, 2017, at the Family Hospice and Palliative Care Center in Mt. Lebanon.
Born on December 23, 1954 in Pittsburgh, Mary was the daughter of the late Antonio and Mary Bucci. She graduated from St. Paul Cathedral High School in 1972 and obtained a B.A. in English from the University of Pittsburgh in 1976. Mary soon met the love of her life while working as a proofreader at Security-Columbian Banknote Company. On June 23, 1979 Mary and Chet were married at St. Winifred Roman Catholic Church. Married for 37 years, they raised their two dear children, Rebecca (Rick) Gunter and Justin Story. Mary was the proud nunnie of Alana, Stella and Logan Gunter; adored sister of Anthony, Ralph (Maryann), Linda (Jimmy) Hill, Debbie (Dirk) Riggs and the late Louis (Carol) Bucci, Robert and Susan Bucci; sister-in-law of Nancy (Bill) Somers and Judy (Randy) Heinzl; and loving aunt of 19 nieces and nephews. She worked as a licensed insurance agent for over 30 years at Jim Ruscello State Farm Insurance Agency, alongside Lisa Nikolopoulos, who was like a sister to her. She was loved by many of her clients.
She found great joy in baking cookies for family and friends and was the artistic director of many a Pittsburgh cookie table. She will be thought of fondly for her many home-cooked Sunday dinners with her children and grandchildren. Mary, a thoughtful, kind and nurturing person, will always be remembered for her beautiful smile.
Mary's family wishes to thank the staff at Family Hospice for the compassionate care that she received.
