Mary Jane Machaj

Age 93, formerly of Bethel Park, passed away on Tuesday, October 16, 2012. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dr. Theodore S. Machaj; and son Dr. Vincent Machaj; left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Carolyn Banks; daughter-in-law, Helen Machaj; brother, Theodore "Teddy" (Becky) Hrutkay; grandchildren, Stephanie (Kevin) McGurty, Eric (Meena) Banks, Matthew Machaj, Helena (Muhammad) Ramadan, Christine Machaj, Laura (Doug)Hanson and David (Erin) Machaj; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mary Jane was a long time member of Bethel Park Gold Club, a member of St. Thomas More since 1952. She served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy during WWII. A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 20 from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at FREYVOGEL SLATER FUNERAL DIRECTORS, 112 Fort Couch Road, (Opposite Macy's South Hills Village) Bethel Park. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Thomas More Church Saturday 10 a.m. Followed by interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 2900 Washington Road, McMurray. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15205 or a charity of your choice.
