Mary Catharine (Campbell) Boerner

Age 89, was called to heaven on Monday, November 23, 2020. Born to Catharine (Farrell) and Regis E. Campbell; wonderful wife to David, the two were married on November 30, 1968, at 1 o'clock p.m. at St. George Church and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary by renewing their vows with Fr. Russell Maurer in November of 2018. Mary Catharine worked at Stouffer's Restaurant for a number of years. In retirement, the couple moved to South Hills Retirement Residence (the former South Hills High School) and took part in many of the activities, the card games the best, and met all their good friends there. Mary Catharine was a great home-style cook. Her stuffed pork chops were her husband's favorite. Affectionately known to everyone as Mary Kay, you couldn't pass her without a big hug and kiss. She adopted her husband's family as her own. No matter the weather or the distance, if she was invited to a gathering, you could count on her to be there. She made it a point to ask what was going on in the lives of all who knew her. She had a great memory for all the details. She loved to cook and bake and take care of her husband. She also loved to socialize. Mary Catharine was beloved sister to Marlene Solimeo (the late Nicholas) of Philadelphia, Regis Campbell (Sandy) of Kansas and the late Patrick (Karen) Campbell. Mary Catharine was the beloved aunt to Lisa Marie, Kristen, Shawn, Catherine, Regis, III, Heather, Ashley, Joe, Jacqueline and the late Brian, Debbie and Nicholas. She was the beloved sister-in-law to the late Alfred J. (Patricia) Boerner and Philip (Ann) Boerner. She was the beloved aunt to JoAnna, Dennis, David, Patti, Chris, Alfred and Adrian. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, visitation will be private to the family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary of the Mount Church, 403 Grandview Ave., on Monday, November 30th, 2020 at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her memory to St. Jude Children's Hospital, Make-a-Wish or St. Mary of the Mount Building Fund.
