Mary Margaret Bartell

Mary Margaret (Snatchko) Bartell, age 75, passed from this life on Tuesday April 30, 2024.  She was born and raised in Sheraden, attended Holy Innocents HS, and then raised her family and spent the remainder of her life in Greentree. Born on May 22, 1948, she was the daughter of the late James A. “Ike” Snatchko and Dorothy Przybysz, and the daughter in law of the late John W. “Scopes” Bartell and Helen Cagney.

Margie’s vocation in this life was to care for her family, friends and neighbors. She volunteered at a local Pre-School, traveled to Senior Citizen Homes to offer $2 haircuts, and was always willing to babysit at a moments notice her great nieces and nephews, or children in her neighborhood.   She gave up owning her own beauty shop in Crafton to raise her two boys, and then spent the next two decades in the stands watching her boys play baseball on the fields around Greentree.   She also loved making the best cut out and chocolate chip cookies around for each and every holiday.  It was her husband Bob however that she loved and adored the most, and as she spent her final fourteen years battling dementia, it was he who cared for her until she entered into Heaven surrounded by her family.   Margie was simply put just a wonderful human being.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 51 years, Bob Bartell. She is also survived by her two sons, Robby (Becca) and Christopher (Grace) Bartell, as well as her granddaughter Delaney; two sisters Cindy (Don) Di Bello and Eileen (Paul) Miller, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother and sister in law, James and Lynn Snatchko.  

Family, friends, and neighbors will be received on Friday, May 3, 2024 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at WILLIAM SLATER II FUNERAL SERVICE, 1650 Greentree Rd., Scott Twp., PA 15220.  Mass of Roman Catholic Burial will be held on Saturday, May 4 at 10 AM with Fr. Dan Maurer, Celebrant, SS. Simon and Jude Church, St. Raphael the Archangel Parish, 1607 Greentree Rd. Interment will follow at Saint Martin Cemetery.
