Of the Masonic Village, Sewickley, PA, passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2020. Born in Fairmont, WV on May 16, 1931, she was the daughter of the late James E. and Devina (Watkins) Facemire. Preceded in death by her brother, James W. Facemire and her son, David Mark McLellan. Beloved wife of G. Edward McLellan (67 years); and loving mother to Melinda Leigh McLellan (Karen Flynn) of Clarksburg, MD. Also survived by nephews, Jeff Facemire (Nancy) and Jim Facemire (Marilyn). Mary Anne graduated from West Fairmont High School in 1949. She then went to Duke University and graduated in 1953 from the school of nursing. While at Duke, she was President of Student Government, Vice President Honor Court and a member of the Santa Filomena Nursing Honor Society in 1954, she returned to Duke majoring in psychiatric nursing and graduated in 1956 with a B.S. in nursing. After she and Ed moved to Pittsburgh, she was employed by the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing Western Psychiatric Hospital in 1961, she resigned so she and Ed could being raising their family in Upper St. Clair. Mary Anne was a person who loved people and you didn't need much time with her until you felt you had developed a new friend for life. She utilized her love for people by volunteering for many community activities. She was involved in Goodwill Industries, neighborhood chair of 14 Girl Scout troops, Upper St. Clair Bicentennial Commission, Duke Alumni committees, and Chairman of Cancer Crusade. In 1969, she assisted in developing a pastoral counseling clinic at Christ United Methodist Church. In 1980, Gov. Thornburg appointed her to the Board of Trustees at Woodville State Hospital and she subsequently became the Board President. She was an active member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church (Oakland, MD) and Past President of the Women's Club. She was a 67 year member of the Eastern Star, served ont he board for Friends Aware (Cumberland, MD), former member of St. Clair and Cumberland Country Clubs and Deep Creek Lake Yacht Club. Mary Anne had a longtime love of Collie dogs and over the years, she and Ed had six of them, all named Shawn.
