Age 88, a lifelong resident of Mt. Washington, passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, surrounded by her family. Beloved wife of the late James Joseph Burns. Loving mother of Barbara Aaron, Nancy (Renee) Burns, James W. (Mona) Burns, Kathleen (Robert) Snape and Thomas D. (Kristin) Burns. Beloved daughter of the late Charles D. and Alice (Markland) Lowman. Loving sister of the late Richard E. (surviving spouse Kathleen), Gary (surviving spouse Donna), and Linda (Mike) Vega. Cherished Grams of Jeff (Amanda), Mashell, Nikkole, Anthony, Mikal, Aleesha, James "JJ" (Lydia), Daniel "DJ" (Alexis), Rebecca (Gabe), Rachel (Alex), Megan, Mackenzie and Liam. Loving great-grandmother of Alex, Alaya, Aries, Leia Belle, Everly Rey, Jaime, Kie, Daniel Jr., Rey, and Benjamin. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Marlene had the "gift of gab" and was a cafeteria worker for the Pittsburgh Public Schools, involved with WHAA Baseball, and a volunteer at Whittier Elementary School for many years.
