Mario Iannone

Peacefully on January 22, 2024. Beloved wife to the late Antonietta Iannone. Loving father to Frank (Tracey) Iannone. Grandfather to Roman and Dante Iannone. Brother to Lena Altieri and the late Sebastian Iannone. Brother-in-law to Inez Omogrosso. Also survived by many nieces and nephews in Canada. The family would like to especially thank Mario’s caregivers; Kim, Ashley, and Anne, as well as the staff at Juniper Village, Joe, Leslie, and Maryanne, and the third floor staff at Juniper. 

Mario served in the Italian Army before he came over to the United States from Italy when he was in his 30s. He was a chef at the Lemont for many years of his life. Beyond the kitchen, he found solace in the simple joys of walking, and actively engaged in fulfilling activities at Juniper Village. 

Family and friends welcome Friday, 4-8pm in WILLIAM SLATER II FUNERAL SERVICE (412-563-2800) 1650 Greentree Rd, Scott Twp, 15220, where a Blessing Service will take place Saturday, 10am. The family invites everyone for lunch following the blessing service in the Slater Hospitality Suite. Entombment to follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Juniper Village assisted living activities department, 1320 Greentree Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15220.
