Marilynn "Lynn" Virginia Hayes

Marilynn "Lynn" Virginia Hayes, age 75, of Scott Township, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2025. She was the daughter of the late William Pearse and Virginia “Jean” Hayes. Marilynn was the beloved sister of Cheryl Lenhart (the late Terry), Janice Hayes, Kevin Hayes (Judge Maureen Kelly), and Karen Christy (John); loving aunt of Matthew Lenhart (Katie), Erin Pover (Ryan), Martin Sporrer (Amy), Meighan Sporrer, Connor Hayes, and Kevin Paul Hayes; great aunt of Greyson, Colton, and Zoey Lenhart, Lily and Elena Pover, and Mason Sporrer; and special cousin of Katie Stoll (Rick) and Mary Anne Litz (Steve). She was also survived by other family and friends, including her dear long-time friend, Diane Koehler.

Lynn graduated from Mount Lebanon High School in 1967 and went on to complete her undergraduate and master level studies at the University of Kentucky in Lexington. She enjoyed working for years at The Marriott Corporation in Deerfield, Illinois, and later at PNC Bank in Pittsburgh. 

Lynn was a devout Catholic and an active parishioner at St. Sebastian Church and volunteered her time there working with the Ladies of Charity and the Saint Vincent de Paul ministries. Lynn will be remembered fondly for her love and enjoyment of family gatherings, delicious food and chocolate desserts, summer trips to the New Jersey shore, and an endearing laugh about the funny things that happen to all of us in life. 

There will be no viewing or visitation at the funeral home. All are welcome to attend her Mass of Christian Burial, Saturday, February 15, 2025, 10 AM, Sts. Simon and Jude Church, St. Raphael the Archangel Parish, 1607 Greentree Rd. Her interment will be held privately immediately after the Mass. Arrangements entrusted to WILLIAM SLATER II FUNERAL SERVICE, Scott Twp., 412-563-2800.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ladies of Charity at Saint Raphael the Archangel Parish or Gallagher Hospice.
