Mariano T. "Babe" Dattilo

On Tuesday, May 27, 2014, of Mt. Washington, age 92. He was born on October 23, 1921, son of the late Mariano and Filippa (Badali) Dattilo; brother of the late Frank P. Dattilo and Rose DelSignore; beloved uncle of Bob Dattilo, Dianne Feschuck, Linda Lerach, Nancy Martin and Raymond DelSignore; he is also survived by four great-nieces and three great-nephews, and three great-great-nieces. Mr. Dattilo began working in his family's fruit and produce business in the 1930s, and went on to work at the St. Joe Paper Company, from which he retired in 1983. He was a lifelong member of St. Mary of the Mount Church. He was a familiar figure along Shiloh St. and Grandview Ave., where he would spend many hours walking and talking with his many friends and acquaintances. He was a kind, generous, caring person, a tireless, hard worker even into his later years, and a tribute to his family and all who knew and loved him.
