MARGUERITE “RITA” BEERING (CALCATERRA)

Age 88, formerly of Rosslyn Farms, passed away on Monday, April 6, 2026. She was a daughter of the late Daniel and Josephine Calcaterra and sister of the late Mary Lou Calcaterra. Rita was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years, John G. Beering on January 11, 2010. She was the sister-in-law of the late Dr. Steven C. and Jane P. Beering. Rita is survived by three nephews, Peter Beering, David Beering, and John F. Beering.

Rita was employed for many years in Human Resources Management positions in the Pittsburgh steel industry and retired in 1999. In her youth, she studied piano for several years at the Pittsburgh Musical Institute and after her retirement, enjoyed teaching piano. She was an avid devotee of the Pittsburgh Symphony and Pittsburgh Opera and attended concerts regularly. Rita loved animals, particularly her 3 cats.

All welcome to attend her funeral service Tuesday, April 14, 2026 11 AM at Providence Point Chapel, 500 Providence Point Blvd., Pittsburgh, PA 15243.
