88 of Upper St. Clair, on Sunday, October 6, 2013. Beloved wife of 67 years to Lt. Colonel John William Wiss, U.S. Army, retired: loving mother of Marcia Wiss MacDonald and John Wiss. Dear grandmother of Christopher MacDonald and Joan MacDonald Schaefer. Mrs. Wiss was a member of St. Thomas More Church having served as a Eucharistic Minister and member of the Ladies of Charity. She was a 1946 graduate of Ohio State University with a degree in accounting. As an Army wife, she lived many places from Tokyo to Berlin and New York to Los Angeles as well as many places in between, including White Sands, New Mexico. She was well traveled and finally settled in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Friends welcome Friday 2-4 & 6-8p.m. at Freyvogel-Slater Funeral Directors, (412-835-1860) 112 Fort Couch Road, Bethel Park (Opposite Macy's South Hills Village). Mass of Christian Burial Saturday 10:00a.m. in St. Thomas More Church. Burial will take place in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia.
