MARGARET “PEG” M. HUNTER
Age 86, of Collier Township, died peacefully on Thursday, June 18, 2026. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard G. Metzger (dec. 1985), loving mother of Peggy McKibbin (Mike), Cindy Lentsch (Dave), and Rick Metzger (Heather); and wife of the late Howard A. Hunter (dec. 2004): embraced as her own, Jim Hunter (Linda), Nancy Clutter (Jim), Dean Hunter (Cheryl), and Karen Fretschel (Joe). She was a devoted grandmother of 16, and cherished great-grandmother of 21. Peg is also survived by her loving sister, Patricia McClish (Dan).
With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we celebrate the life of Peg Hunter, whose kindness, generosity, and unconditional love touched countless lives. To know Peg was to feel welcomed, valued, and cared for. She had a remarkable gift for connecting with people and leaving them better for having known her . Through quiet acts of service and a heart devoted to others, she touched countless lives and strengthened the communities she loved. A dedicated volunteer and former President of the Ladies of Charity. Peg lived her faith through action, making sandwiches for the hungry, creating blankets for those in need, organizing charitable efforts, or simply offering a listening ear. She gave freely of herself and inspired others to do the same. Peg also knew how to enjoy life. She loved card games, Mahjong, book club gatherings, and time spent with friends. A lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers fan, she remained loyal through every season—and those who knew her best may smile knowing she was spared another Aaron Rodgers year. Above all, Peg was devoted to her family. She was a loving mother to all. Her family was her greatest joy, and her love was steady, selfless, and unconditional. Peg leaves behind a legacy of faith, compassion, service, and love. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
The family would like to thank Bridges Hospice for their continued care and support. Thank you to all her friends and neighbors who helped her through this journey. We will be forever grateful.
