Both were incredibly patriotic, proud to be US Citizens, and grateful for all that this country offered and stood for. Maha used her knowledge of 3 languages to help countless International patients who came to Pittsburgh for care in our hospitals. Many of these families continued to stay in touch long after they returned to their native countries. Maha will most be remembered for her gracious hospitality and strong devotion to family, friends, and church. She was generous and tireless in her efforts for church and community causes like The Pittsburgh Folk Festival, St. Margaret's of Scotland Church, and Our Lady of Victory Church which was founded by their uncle, Monsignor Elias Basil.
