On Sunday, November 30, 2014, after a long fight with heart disease and cancer, was called by his Higher Power. He was the youngest son of Elizabeth Donaldson and "John" Judson Calvin Chrise. He was born at Pittsburgh Hospital on April 8, 1934. He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Eugene, Kenneth, Jack, Betty and Donald. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Betty; and three children, Gregory of Flint, TX, Amy Brooks of Scott Twp. and Danial of Atlanta, GA; also son-in-law, Glenn A. Brooks; and two granddaughters, Lindsay M. Brooks and Haley T. Brooks; nieces and nephews. Mr. Chrise graduated from Dormont High School in 1953 and the Art Institute in 1955. His art biography includes a two-man show at the Pittsburgh Playhouse, International Fine Art in Oils to show entries such as: Ball State Teachers College, Three Rivers Arts Festival (juried), United States Steel Corporation Employee Art Competition(s) and Butler Institute of America Art Exhibit (Religious art in oil), where he received a first place award. He also painted various oil paintings commissioned for private and business interiors. He retired from USX Corporation in 1998, having worked for United States Steel Corporation most of his life at Edgar Thomson Works, the Research Center in Monroeville and Corporate Headquarters (Real Estate). Family and friends welcome Tuesday and Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. WILLIAM SLATER II FUNERAL SERVICE, (412-563-2800), 1650 Greentree Rd., Scott Twp., Pgh., PA 15220, where Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. Mr. Chrise will be interred in Jefferson Memorial Park.
