Louis J. Countouris

Lived a full life to the age 91, of Green Tree, on Saturday, March 18, 2023.  Loving and dedicated husband of 58 years of Phyllis (Georgagis) Countouris, and father of Cynthia Countouris (Riccardo Fiorentino) and Gregory Countouris. Son of the late Jerry and Marika (Papantoniou) Countouris, and brother of the late Spiro and Andy Countouris.  He is also survived by a very large extended loving Greek family.  Louis was born in Turtle Creek, PA and raised in Kephalonia Island, Greece.  He returned to the United States at the age of 14 after the Italian and German occupation. Louis was a graduate of South Side High School and of Carnegie Tech with a bachelor’s degree in architecture.  He owned his own architecture firm for over 40 years. Louis was an avid golfer and long-time member of Oakmont Country Club.

Family and friends welcome Wednesday, March 22 from 3-8 PM in WILLIAM SLATER II FUNERAL SERVICE, 1650 Greentree Rd., Scott Twp., 15220, (412-563-2800), where a Trisagion Service will be held at 7 PM. His funeral service will take place Thursday, March 23, 11 AM in St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 419 S. Dithridge Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15213. Everyone please meet at church.  Interment to follow in the Homewood Cemetery.
