Louis Cohen

Age 88, of Harrisburg, formerly of Pittsburgh, passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2017, surrounded by family. Born April 16, 1928 to the late Isidor and Cipa Cohen, Louis was a graduate of Taylor Alderdice High School and the University of Pittsburgh. Following his education, Louis worked in food sales at Weiss Provision and Mason Thomas. Louis was past president/ member of B'Nai Brith Men and Carnegie Synagogue and past president and board member of United Senior Citizens of Upper St. Clair. Louis loved his family and enjoyed attending his children's activities. Louis is survived by his wife of 64 years, Louise (Mallinger) Cohen; son-in-law, Chris Griesmer; daughters, Tracy (John) Dorsey and Amy (Luke) Leymeister; son, Keith (Dory) Cohen; nephew, John Thomas (Colleen O'Shea) and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by daughter, Patti Griesmer. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 10, 2017 at Ahavath Achim Cemetery of Kennedy Township. No visitation prior to service.
