Age 89, of Upper St. Clair, PA formerly of Butler, PA, passed away peacefully in her home on Wed April 29, 2020, surrounded by her loved ones. Beloved wife of 68 years, to George Pernicano, Loving mother of daughter Elaine (Pernicano) Sappas, late husband Harry K. Sappas, son Keith Pernicano, wife Donna (Bove) Pernicano. Dear Grandmother of Stephanie, Dean, (wife) Michelle, Leah, (husband) Carl, Kara, Amy and Keith. Caring great grandmother of Fitzgerald, Andrew, Emma, and Reagan. Daughter of Ira Pressley and Madge F. (Miller) Campbell. Siblings JoAnn Pavlin (Alex), Ken Campbell (Irene), Jim Campbell (Judy), Pressley Campbell (Ann), and two sister who preceded her in death Margery Campbell and Betty Schmidt Campbell (Lyle). Lois graduated from Butler High School in 1949, married her husband George in April of 1952, and worked as a switchboard operator for the Bell telephone company. Lois was a graceful, loving and selfless women. She was a dedicated mother and wife, who enjoyed spending time with her family and spoiling her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed treasure hunting at flea markets and collecting antiques. She loved sewing, crocheting, wallpapering and refinishing furniture. Some of her favorite things include; four leaf clovers, grinches, country music and playing scrabble. Her favorite color was purple, and her favorite flowers were lilacs which she grew in her backyard. Lois will be remembered as an intelligent woman who sharpened her mind through crosswords, puzzles and word games; especially the game of scrabble. She was truly a "scrabble master". Lois was "sharp as a tack", who delighted in sharing her experiences and knowledge with others. Her family truly reaped the benefits of having her in their lives.
