Leon S. Bonds

Age 76, of Pittsburgh, formerly of Roanoke, VA, and Chesapeake, VA, unexpectedly, after a brief battle with cancer, on Sunday, December 4, 2016. Beloved husband of Cheryl (Milinski) Bonds; son of the late John and Hurley English Bonds; loving father of Fiara (Lakai) Bonds and triplets, Sydney, Julian and Walter Bonds, the late Felicia Artis and the late Leon (Monte) Stephenson Bonds, Jr.; brother John Bonds, Lottie Roach, Gordon Bonds, Pearl Taborn, Capritola Bonds, the late James Bonds, the late Thomas Bonds, the late Theodice Bonds and the late Shirley (Jackie) Ferguson; grandfather of Monte Artis, Anthony Bonds and Tyree Bonds; son-in-law of Walter and Nancy Milinski, Sr. ; brother-in-law of Suzan (Chuck) Rakaczky, Walter (Nancy) Milinski, Jr., Michelle Milinski and Janine (Adam) Milinski-Gross. He was a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. Mr Bonds was a graduate of Norfolk State University (BS) and the University of Virginia (MSed and EDS). He was a teacher and principal for Norfolk Public Schools and Principal for Pittsburgh Public Schools. He was a faithful Christian man who was active in his church, an avid tennis player and runner and took great care of his health. Everyone who knew him loved him.
