Age 64, died on Monday, October 29, 2018 at home with his family. He was born on April 21, 1954 to Andy and Doris Rekasie, and was the youngest of three children. Larry served 27 years as a Firefighter with the City of Pittsburgh Fire Department. His many loves in life included his family, the outdoors, dogs, entertaining guests, music, traveling, and being a great friend to all who knew him. Larry supported his family and community in many ways throughout his life. Countless hours were dedicated to coaching youth sports. Even more were spent leading and teaching in the outdoors, both independently and with scouting organizations. He is survived by his sisters, Joyce Wright and Cheryl Brown; his sons, Cory and Chad Rekasie; and his wife of over 40 years, Amy Rekasie. Larry Rekasie made the world a better place.
