Kimon "Kim" Eliou

d. November 20, 2020

Born April 9, 1932 in Icaria, Greece, Kim passed away peacefully Nov 20, 2020. Predeceased by his wife, Jean, of 65 years for whom he was very protective, his mother Erene and father Gust, his daughter in law Constance Eliou. He leaves behind his daughter Kimberly Gerber (Eric), son Keith Eliou, his grandchildren David and Devin Gerber and Rylee and Rae Eliou, his sisters Elpinike Main (Woodrow) and Antigone Hanna, his cousin Anna Grekusis. He also leaves behind his very special friends, Tony Rosa, Fran Marze, Barbara Polimus and Barry Budd.

Kim was a proud veteran of the Korean War, always wearing his army cap on service related holidays and appreciating those who thanked him for his service. He graduated from Pitt and worked for Allegheny County until he retired. After retirement he helped to run one of his son's business. Never in a hurry he always had time to talk and tell stories to his friends and anyone that would listen. When a doctor advised him that his end was approaching, Kim replied "That's the way the mop flops" while giving every indication that he thought he would live to be 100. He loved people and people loved him. Betting on horse racing and investing in stocks were his favorite hobbies. Kim also enjoyed cooking and would start many conversations with what he just ate and what was going to be next. He was vey generous with his grandchildren while being satisfied with bare essentials for himself. The family would like to thank his compassionate doctor Vijay Bahl, nurse Olivia and everyone at Rebecca Concordia in Allison Park for taking such good care of him in his last years.
